I was extremely anxious about how to pay for college. Not knowing how much college was going to cost clouded the dreams of where my daughter could go. I didn't want my daughter's decision of where to continue her education to be limited by what I can afford, especially when she has worked so hard to have options, but as a single mom that is sometimes the reality.
Meeting with Jerry has given us the freedom to DREAM BIG again. There are so many options for paying for an education. In less than an hour Jerry explained in detail the different options to pay for college and various means of support there are to help students get a college degree. We came out with a plan, a few to do's and most importantly WITHOUT Fear of holding my daughter back from living the life she has always imagined!

Jerry assisted me with all the steps to the financial aid process from senior year in high school through graduate school. He helped me complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). He also explained to me how the FAFSA would help determine how much scholarships, grants, and loans I would qualify for from the government and the college. Although my family's income was too high to receive many scholarships and grants, Jerry helped me strategize how I could reduce the cost of my education. One of his recommendations was to attend a community college for the first 2 years of school and then transfer to a 4 year university. I took his advice and was able to save my family a lot of money for the first couple of years. I eventually transferred to my dream school, the University of New Haven for the remaining years. Additionally, I have always been able to count on him to help me understand my student loan burden. Without Jerry and his organization's assistance , I strongly believe the process of applying and graduating from college would have been extremely difficult.
